Established in 1955, Eastern Engraving is a manufacturer of premium quality embossing rolls and machinery. Eastern's founders produced sill plates for the Fisher Guide Division of General Motors Corporation. In the early years, the company also produced rolls for a variety of products manufactured by Johnson & Johnson Company, which went on to purchase the business.
In the ensuing years, Eastern pioneered print-to-register embossing used extensively in the liquor and cigarette packaging industries.
In 1976, Standex International, a global, multi-industry corporation, marketing products through five synergistic operating groups, acquired Eastern Engraving from Johnson & Johnson and today remains a member of the Standex Engraving Group.
